Are you eager to see drag racing return in 2022? So is Victor Bray and Team Bray Racing!
Writing this in January 2022 we are all hopeful Drag Racing can recover to its former glory.
I feel the best thing going forward is the Top Fuel series announced last year. The simple facts are that if Top Fuel is healthy then Drag Racing is healthy. They are the fire and Brimstone of Drag Racing worldwide along with Nitro Funny cars which are pretty scarce here in OZ.
Saying that, Top Fuel cars need a couple of hours to turn around between rounds – due to the incredible stresses on engine and driveline – so they need a backup show to create an event.
I hear they are including several Pro classes in the back up show but also spreading their wings with several different categories of motorsport entertainment. It has worked for the Supercars in the past, so I guess we just have to wait and see.
There are some great racers on track backed up by some of Australia’s best promoters and best TV production teams so I have high hopes for success right across the sport.
