Century Batteries has been synonymous with Team Bray Racing for more than two decades, so of course the team was on-hand as the company celebrated 90 years of Australian manufacturing today.

Team Bray Racing’s Victor Bray and Ben Bray, Ben's Gulf Western Oil Doorslammer, The very 1st Century Batteries delivery van a 1928 Rugby D40 Light Van fully restored by TBR, plus the factory extream car of New Zealand’s Rod Harvey were all-on hand at Century Batteries’ Brisbane office today as part of the festivities.

“Century Batteries has been a part of Team Bray Racing for so long that my memory can’t go back far enough to pin point exactly when our relationship started, but it is safe to say it has been more than 20 years,” team principal and six-time Doorslammer champion, Victor Bray, said.

“With such a long-standing and rewarding partnership, there was no question as to whether we would be here to help this great company celebrate this important milestone – here is to the next 90 years!”

For Victor’s son and three-time national champion Ben Bray, Century Batteries has been a permanent fixture of his racing career.

“As long as I have been racing, Century Batteries has been supporting us,” explained the 34-year-old.

“Their support is exceptionally valued and has played a large part in our success over the years. To see them reach this milestone is very exciting and we feel very privileged to have been a part of their celebrations today.”

Century Batteries is Australia’s oldest and most recognised battery manufacturer with a proud heritage spanning two centuries.

The company’s story began in 1928 when the first Century factory was established in Alexandria, Sydney. Since then, the Century brand has grown to become a household name with Australia’s and New Zealand’s motoring public at the forefront of battery manufacturing and design.

Today, Century Batteries continues to lead the industry in the development, manufacture and supply of stored energy solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
